Welcome to the home of early music activities in Donostia-San Sebastián, in the Basque Country, founded and directed by Adam Woolf and Mau Ziemkiewicz Artabe. Here we will post news of our workshops, courses, lessons and concerts. Our aim is to promote interest in pre-classical music making and appreciation on all levels by organising workshops, organising concerts and many other events throughout the year in San Sebastian and the surrounding areas.
NEW Check out our brand new publication: DIEM BOOK 1 – 50 progressive pieces – available in 7 clefs to suit your instrument.
We organise several weekend events throughout the year. 2018 has seen our inaugural workshop in April at which we welcomed 28 players and singers from 10 different countries and performed in the Sunday morning mass and a well attended public concert. In November we will repeat the fun, hosted once more in the glorious acoustic of the Basilica of Santa Maria in the old town.
2019 will see similar workshops, the next of which will be November 15-17 and welcomes soprano Raquel Andueza for some exciting vocal coaching, masterclasses and, as always to integrate with voices instruments. Instrumental coaching and large ensemble will be directed by Adam Woolf.
The DIEM Academy was set up to enable professional and aspiring professional players and music conservatoire students to continue/enhance their study and musical development. It serves also as a meeting place where musicians can share ideas and nurture an international professional network.
For those not looking to play professionally but still interested in regular individual tuition and ensemble coaching, there is DIEM Collegium. This is a monthly class which all players are welcome to attend and benefit from contact with other players and world class tuition designed to help them achieve their musical and technical best.
